Jewish Public Safety in a Time of Rising Hate
JCOB (Jewish Coalition of Berkeley) and AJC of Northern CA (American Jewish Committee) invite you to a vital community conversation about Jewish public safety in Berkeley.
When: Wed, July 16th, 7:00-8:30pm
Where: Location to be shared before event with those who RSVP
Against the backdrop of a sharp rise in antisemitic assaults, threats, and harassment nationwide — including high-profile acts of violence — Jewish communities across the country are grappling with deep concerns about safety. While Berkeley has so far been spared the worst of these incidents, the climate of fear has nonetheless touched our city. This event offers a chance to hear directly from local law enforcement and legal officials about their efforts to protect Jewish life and uphold public trust.
Join Alameda County District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson and representatives from the Berkeley Police Department for an evening of information-sharing, dialogue, and trust-building.
We will discuss:
– What law enforcement is doing to counter antisemitic violence and intimidation
– How the community can stay informed and protected
– What partnerships can strengthen safety for all
